International Digital Humanities Hack
- Major prize: Best Digital Humanities Hack ($4000)
- Australian Runner up 1: Best Digital Humanities Hack ($2000)
- New Zealand Runner up 2: Best Digital Humanities Hack ($2000)
This category is about using humanities data to create an awesome digital humanities hack. Anything that helps people engage in and celebrate cultural and intellectual data. Supported by Ancestry.com and IP Australia, the GovHack International Digital Humanities prize provides Australia and New Zealand hackers with the opportunity to bring awesomeness to our cultural and intellectual data holdings. We strongly encourage hackers to draw on the IP GOD dataset on data.gov.au, and the many resources available from the major cultural hubs including Trove and Digital NZ, RecordSearch and Archives NZ. The Major Prize is open to both countries, and a team will be selected from each country for runner up prizes. Bonus points will be awarded for teams with Australian and New Zealand participants.
