Team Name:

BiblioFile seeks to increase social connection through reading- like Tinder for book lovers. It uses public library open data to notify uses of other people with similar reading interests and to connect people with the books that they love. Users can connect with other people who like to read- regardless of location- both online and in the real world. Books can be searched for and requested through the One Card Network - and if it is not available they can request that it is purchased by their local library.

Penny Parking

One tap to park, one tap to go
Team Name:

We are creating a parking app which will help to streamline public car parks and payments. We will achieve this by negotiating a continuous 'pay as you go' system for public and kerbside car parks which would be incorporated into in-app payments and parking inspector's data so no need to carry petty cash in your car; it also means that you're not paying for unused time. In addition, we'll have a buddy system, similar to Uber, which notifies users when other users are about to leave parks close to their destination.

Compare all the things!

Team Name:

Compare all the things! makes it easier to compare geospatial data sets.

  • What's the difference in land use between these suburbs?
  • How do these local council regions differ in demographics, and what impact does this have on other key indicators?
  • What are the strengths and weaknesses of setting up a business in this location as opposed to that one?

These are some of the problems we're trying to address.

Team Name:

The Problem:
For individuals, finding out about things to do at locations is often time consuming, confusing and lacking incentives.
For business & government, getting people to better utilise public spaces, attractions or event offerings can be difficult and expensive. Gaining data over actual utilisation of those offerings is also difficult, and so often ignored.

Truflr brings the needs of both sets of users together, incentivising the public to get off their couch and go exploring!

Zac Plus!

What is the difference between Marion and Modbury?

Our hack will be a play-off between suburbs to give people a chance to objectively compare suburbs, using more than just the ABS data currently used on Real Estate websites. We aim to make it fun, with a chance to challenge your friends' suburbs on different areas including Road Safety, Income, Crime Stats, health and hospital services, and more!

Please watch our video, it does a great job of explaining:
