Bill shock is an end user aimed app which aims to aid consumers and rate-payers with managing their electricity usage and power bill charges byb giving a breakdown to the individual device of the cost of running each device in a household. As such, in turn reduce their emmissions. Bill shock has made use of the Energy Rating Data for household appliances – Labelled Products (https://data.gov.au/dataset/energy-rating-for-household-appliances) dataset from the Department of Industry and Science in order to calculate the cost of running the most of the devices in a household.

Entrepreneurial Hack:

I believe that this can be considered an entrepreneurial hack as it aims to help people manage money. But, mainly because it can be morphed very easily to fit any number of devices, any number of models and and type of device. This hack has a great startup potential mainly because it can be morphed easily and is very well done, but can definitely be done better. Some inconsistencies in the dataset can lead to bad estimates of price and load times are slow. I believe that this app as well as its users would benefit greatly from a more professional approach.
